This ministry presents you with an urgent challenge to read this relevant and informative open letter. This letter is designed to educate and inform you, the reader, on an issue that could totally transform and change your life. Indeed, our very lives may depend upon having an open mind to the contents of this dissertation.
Take a good long and measured look at the state of our nation!! What do you see? This very question was posed to the prophets of God in the days of ancient Israel. The visual report brought back by the prophets was not a pretty picture. The scene in Israel had grown quite ugly as the nation that God had chosen and planted was in rebellion against His word, commandments, and divine rule. History records Israel's ultimate collapse and captivity because of their disobedience and rebellion. The word "obey" for many in our society today is an anathema word. This word and concept is detestable and foreign to the mind set of much of our culture. This attitude and spirit sadly exists in the lives of many who call themselves Christians. I recently heard a pastor say that obedience leads to true revival. II Chronicles 7:14 affirms this statement. Repentance and a turning from sin and wrong ways will bring healing and blessings to a nation willing to obey the above passage.
The word "sin" is a terrible three letter word in many churches. The supposition of thinking is that people need to hear something that will make them feel good. Thereby, the word and concept of sin is relegated to the church closet.
What does this spiritual field reporter see? The on the job, eye witness report, is very disturbing and eye opening. many of you reading this article would echo and support that this field report is alarming. George Santayana said, "Those who forget history are doomed to repeat it."
What do I see in regard to the above statement? America is eerily displaying many of the same actions and patterns that led to the destruction of ancient Israel. The scale model is there to look at, but the issue of learning from past history is non-existent it seems.
Many of us sense great danger in the air. Deep concern, fear, and alarm, is on the rise in our beloved nation. Our culture, society, and way of life, is progressing to complete disintegration according to a wide spectrum of informed and knowledgeable people. Many reading this frank and open letter will scoff. A gloom and doom label of another alarmist will be ascribed to the views of this writer. Many will say, we've had problems before and these issues will all be solved as well.
Dear readers, deep in our spirit and instincts, this season of time seems different, doesn't it! Maybe that's because this time in mankind's history is truly a unique and defining era. Jesus, our Messiah, was the prophet of prophets. The spirit of prophecy was upon Him. Jesus asked in Matthew 16:3, "Are you able to discern the times?" That's a great question for us today to examine and to answer. Many lives may rest upon properly understanding and responding to this question.
Luke 15 records a beautiful and moving story about a father and his lost son. Many call it the parable of the prodigal son. The better portrait is probably that of a father's love. It is the poignant description of a rebellious son who has walked away from his father's house. The son has spiraled down into a state of destitution and poverty. The wayward son repents and turns his face and steps towards his father's house as he realizes that he has sinned against the loving authority of the father. The father goes out to meet the son in a heart warming display of forgiveness and love. The reconciliation and restoration of this relationship is a powerful reminder of something very beautiful that can occur in any of our lives.
I want to point you to Jeremiah 31 which is a mirror account of the Luke 15 parable. The God of Israel, Yahweh, had chosen and planted the tribe of Ephraim as the leader of the northern tribes of Israel. I Kings 12 records the splitting of the Israelites into a southern and northern kingdom. Jeremiah 31:15-20 addresses the nation of Ephraim as a beloved son who has gone astray into rebellion against the Father's authority and ways. God even speaks of His tremendous love for this dear son in whom He delights. This true historical account records that Ephraim has a spirit of repentance and a desire to return to the Father's house after going through suffering and chastisement by God.
God made this statement to all of Israel in Exodus 19:5, "Now, if you obey me fully and keep my covenant, then out of all nations you will be my treasured possession." This great promise applies to modern America too if the terms of the covenant are obeyed. God planted this unique nation and gave it a very special destiny which is divine in its origin!
The same heavenly Father that called the nation of Ephraim home is extending that same call to wayward America today! It's a divine call to return to the Father's house and to, yes, abide by His eternal house rules and commandments, as outlined in His Holy word.
Pontius Pilate asked Yeshua in John 18:30, "What is truth?" John 17:17 verifies the word of the Father as being truth. The actor, Jack Nicholson, gave one of the most memorable lines in movie history when he said in the movie, A Few Good Men, "You can't handle the truth!" Can we embrace, absorb, and handle the truth of a sovereign God?
Dear reader, this letter is written in a deep spirit of love and concern for you and our beloved nation! Most assuredly, there is a warning element included in this letter as well. The storm clouds are gathering, so the preparation time is today for all of us.
What can we do? Turn your face and heart to the Father. Examine your life and turn from going the wrong way. Study and commit your life to His will, truth and ways. The bible is the book of life! It is the word of truth from Genesis to Revelation. The challenge is to really learn what this book teaches.
It is indeed time to come home to the Father's House!
