DISCERNING THE SIGNS
THE GATHERING STORM!
In April of 1936, a terrible tornado struck Tupelo killing hundreds and causing massive destruction. Many people attested to a sense of impending doom in the hours leading up to the Sunday night tornado. My dad said that the animals were even acting strange as if they could sense something bad was about to happen. There were certain signs that day which pointed to an ominous storm developing on the horizon, but many paid little heed to the signs. To their chagrin, many lost their lives.
Weather conscious people know that certain physical signs always point us to a gathering storm of any type. One need not be caught off guard or ill prepared to face the threat of such a storm.
Just think, we’re a people of signs! Our lives are governed by signs everywhere you go. Road signs get us to our destination as we all know and understand. Signs have messages contained within them also so as to direct and guide us in proper movement and understanding. Remember the line in the song which said, “Signs, Signs, Everywhere, Signs!”
Yeshua Jesus, our Messiah, talked of signs and the messages contained within them in the following passage, Matthew 16:2-3 saying “When evening comes, you say, “It will be fair weather, for the sky is red”, and in the morning, “Today it will be stormy, for the sky is red and overcast.” You know how to discern the appearance of the sky, but you cannot discern the signs of the times!” Yeshua could see that their eyes were blind to the message imbedded within the signs.
Dear readers, are you discerning the signs of the times we’re living in now? This question is vital for us to answer in the proper way because it holds life and death in its grasp!
Sir Winston Churchill was a man who understood the signs of the times and the messages contained therein. Churchill warned England and Europe consistently through the 1930’s what Hitler and Germany were planning, but his pleas fell on deaf ears. Churchill wrote the book entitled, “The Gathering Storm”, as a testimony to his urgent warning message to a nation asleep! History records that Britain, Europe, and the whole world, paid a dear price for their failure to believe and act upon Churchill’s warning message.
The Watchmen’s Voice Ministry launched its first and initial public appearance in Tupelo on the night of June 10, 2005. The conference room it opened up in was called, “The Churchill” room! For this writer, that was a sign which transmitted a message to me. This room title was not a planned thing, but simply worked out in this manner.
The following statements were made on the inaugural night of Watchmen’s Voice beginnings. “President Franklin Roosevelt said in his first inaugural address that America had lost its way and didn’t know where it was going!” Dear readers, as we look at America today, can we arrive at any other conclusion than Roosevelt did? It seems as though a terrible storm is approaching the land. Do you hear the thunder? Do you see the lightning and feel the rising of the wind? Do you hear something else above the noise of the encroaching storm? It’s the sound of a voice! That voice is calling out to those who will hear! I think most of us would agree that these words are more relevant three years later than they were in 2005. The fact is, the signs have gotten more ominous and threateningly obvious in our beloved nation.
Many have responded to the Watchmen’s Voice Ministry’s work, which is encouraging and gratifying. This ministry was created, established, and sent forth to represent the divine voice of our Elohim God Yahweh. It’s sole purpose and reason for existing is to speak His word and His word only! The pure unadulterated truth of God will serve then to confront and challenge those who read it. The Father’s love, which sent His only Son to die for mankind, is the driving force behind the message of the Watchmen’s Voice. The Holy Spirit is sent then to execute and to seal this work in people’s lives. I thereby write these articles under the love and guidance of our heavenly Father. Do we have the love and compassion for our fellow man that we should have?
Everyone, take a good long look at the state of our nation. It’s getting ugly out there with no answers or solutions in sight. The sky is turning red with the sign of a terrible storm about to burst upon us. This spiritual weatherman is shouting to all who will listen, WAKE UP! The voice is wooing you to listen and warning all to turn to God in true repentance.
Luke 3 details the work of John the Baptist who appeared as a voice crying in the wilderness. His message was to prepare the way for the Lord and to make straight paths for Him. This ministry prepared the way for Jesus to appear on the scene as mankind’s Messiah.
Malachi 4:5 says, “I will send you the prophet Elijah before that great and dreadful day of the Lord comes. He will turn the hearts of the Fathers to their children and the hearts of the children to their Fathers or else I will come and strike the earth with utter destruction.” Dear readers, our hearts are the core issue, for they must be cleansed and turned to our heavenly Father! John the Baptist told us to bear fruits which shows true repentance! These fruits are the sign of a cleansed heart!
Listen carefully! The prophets gave many words for the end times! Daniel 12, Matthew 24 and Luke 21 all detail many signs which would be prevalent at the time of the end! Those signs carry a warning message direct from the Father himself! Yeshua Himself made it crystal clear that His mission was to represent the Father.
A massive storm is gathering on the national horizon and is getting ready to strike with a magnitude never witnessed before by the inhabitants of our people.
This ministry is discerning the messages in the signs around us as an admonition and warning to WAKE UP! The huge majority didn’t believe and act in Churchill’s day because they couldn’t or wouldn’t discern the message hidden within the signs of their times!
Many state that things have been bad before, and our nation and people survived those times. Those of us with a biblical worldview can see the message contained within these ominous signs. These signs were prophesied to be visible during the last days in which the prophets spoke so emphatic about. The signs speak of great rebellion, sin, and suffering, and the eventual return of our Glorious Messiah! Indeed, the message behind these signs is powerful and absolutely essential that we all comprehend the times we’re in!
Everyone, be very careful to properly discern these times, for your very lives may hinge on your personal decisions. America cannot, and does not escape the words of the prophets! Most people fail to recognize the proper link between end time prophecies, and our nation! What can one do, the question has been asked? The spirit of the prophets are rising up in unity to answer the above question. They provide the correct understanding as to the message in the signs. Jeremiah 6:16 says, “Return to the ancient paths and you will find rest and peace.” Joel 2:13 says, “Rend your heart and return to Yahweh your God.” Elijah instructed us in I Kings 18:21 to “Choose worship to Yahweh over the worship of Baal.” John 14:15 says, “If you love me, keep my commandments.” This was stated by the greatest prophet of them all, Yeshua the Messiah!
We are a nation in rebellion and we need to repent and return to the ways, paths, and instruction of our God! The message in the signs is that Gods judgment is coming upon our nation and people unless repentance and restoration takes place. There is security, protection, and favor, for us if this course of action is chosen!
May God literally guide and direct this nation, churches, and individuals, to make the right decision. God is speaking to us through all of these signs we see around us. The message says to us, WAKE UP, REPENT, AND RETURN TO THE LOVING SANCTUARY OF THE FATHER’S HOUSE!
